Serpentis Phi Outpost

Serpentis Phi Outpost

So I have run this casual scan in my high sec “home” system (which is convenient, because its only 2 jumps from my usual low secs and has factories, so I can build stuff). Two unknowns… and one of them 4/10. “Nice” I thought to myself, with the image of Corelum C-Type gear before my eyes. I’ve docked and swapped ships into a PVP fitted Cynabal, which has enough speed and shield buffer to easily tank such a site. I have quickly cleared the first room, zooming around the surprised rats and popping them into the coldness of space.  Just a minute or two later I was aligning the gate to the second deadspace. Instead of killing the boss and grabbig the valuable loot I felt like killing the rats first – for bounties and security status.

I was almost done with the first group, when a Proteus warped in. It’s a high sec system, so I was not immediately in any danger, because he wouldn’t be able to gank me before CONCORD arrives. So I watch him, just in case I need to take any action. I immediately noticed, that he does not have  Friction Extension Processor, so if I stay outside 12 km (faction scram), I should be safe. He immediately went for the Phi-Operation Protector, deploying a group of t2 hammers and firing his guns. I pushed my MWD and bumped him, locking both the Proteus and the boss rat. Out of a sudden, the NPC Megathron popped, and I burned for the wreck, with the MWD still on. I’ve quickly looted the wreck and waited if the Proteus agresses me. He did not, so I warped off with two precious Corelum mods (and one shadow hardener) in my cargo.

It was my shit, I was there first, I killed all the rats in the first room, and I had full right to that loot, and I would prove it with my 425mm Autocannons  if the Proteus pilot objected. Too bad he didn’t react, a Proteus kill would actually be nice.

Next time I will go straight for the boss, as I should in the first place, taking Stolen Passkey from the can in the first room.

COSMOS

COSMOS

What is it?

So you have played EVE Online for a while and you ask “what is this whole COSMOS thing?” – rest assured – the answers are coming. No, COSMOS is not just the former name of EVE Gate. COSMOS is a long forgotten PVE content, which was supposed to bring the ability to indulge in the storyline of New Eden. There is some similarity between COSMOS and storyline missions, but there are also differences. If you have ever run missions in EVE (I bet you tried that, at least for a while) you most likely know, that every 15 missions you get a Storyline mission offer, which gives you a standing bonus to the whole faction when completed (not just to a single corporation, like normal missions do). There goes the similarities to COSMOS, because COSMOS missions always give you faction standing increase, besides normal corporation stand bonus. What is different however, is the availability of COSMOS missions. Everyone who meets the standing requirement of a COSMOS agent can attempt doing these missions. Read more

Scorpion fitting for Incursion

Scorpion fitting for Incursion

Many pilots ask in Syne Public if Scorpion is useful for Incursions. It is definitely worth a look, provided you can armor tank it with enough resists, so logis can cope with incoming DPS. Shield passive tank would increase already high signature radius, making it even more vulnerable to Tama’s torpedoes.

Seven ECMs prove to be very useful in disrupting Sansha RR and limiting their firepower. Read more

The guide to solo Scout sites [Obsolete]

The guide to solo Scout sites [Obsolete]

This post is from 2011 and after changes in EVE: Hyperion is out of date

Almost every EVE player already knows, that trying to solo an Incursion site is a bad idea. But fear not, if you only need a few more hundred LP to get that famous Meta Capital repairer for your supercarrier, you can do a few small sites solo.

CCP has designed some easy sites with low pay for beginners and people who only need a little bit more LP: the Scout sites. Beacons for these missions spawn in Staging system and can be accessed just like the other Incursion sites. Main difference is the amount of NPCs, which is lowest; usually only three frigates at a time will be trying to kill your ship. Read more

Incursion ‘Intelligent’ Sansha NPCs

Incursion ‘Intelligent’ Sansha NPCs

I have ran through the Static Data Dump available here, which was released by the CCP shortly after the deployment of Incursion 1.1.0. I have found several new NPCs, which will be part of the upcoming Incursions.

A complete list of new NPCs, their effects and some other items related to Incursion 1.1.0 are available here New Intelligent Sansha NPCs in Incursion (links work in-game).
