Bring it on, Kuvakei!

Last weekend I finally managed to do more than just a few Scout incursion sites. I have joined a fleet from Synepublic channel (not an official FCORD fleet though) and we went on doing Vanguard sites.

In the meantime, I’ve noticed, that the Incursion channel was full of LFM DPS! and “Looking for fleet” kind of requests. Immediately I felt like playing … WoW. EVE universe is harsh by design, players generally don’t trust each other, so this kind of questions flooding a public channel is rather unusual.

The fleet was an armor one, consisting of 10 people. We had three Logistics (healers) – 2x Oneiros and my Guardian, 2 Abaddons, Dominix, Deimos (FC), Thorax, Myrmidon and one Ishkur fitted for hacking. The first encounter, “Nation Commander Outpost” is pretty easy. The site consists a few waves of Sansha frigates and the final spawn brings the Boss frigate – Sansha Commander. Since our fleet had three Battleships, most dangerous NPC to us was the Tama Cerebellum – very similar to Cloaked Bomber class, which can fire Banshee Torpedoes against bigger ships.

Second site we  have done is “Override Transfer Array”. This site is a tad more difficult than the previous one, sporting both several Cruisers and a single Deltole Tegmentum battleship. This site is also much easier to do if there is a dedicated hacking pilot in the fleet, because NPCs are supported by a Logistic Station. This station can be disabled by hacking one of two small remote control towers. Deltole Tegmentum has a very good self tank, so disabling the Station is mandatory. Our DPS was just barely enough to make its shields go down.

I have several thoughts on Incursion sites.

  • For one, there is this WoW-like “LFM”, which is a new phenomenon to EVE. Granted, it already happened once: similar fleets of opportunity were assembled when Factional Warfare was first introduced.
  • Secondly, Logistics price will increase, because demand for these ships is much higher than before – each fleet requires at least 20-30% of them to survive.
  • Thirdly, resistances are better than raw HP – Logis need some time to switch reps, but to keep up with repair one needs to have his resists high enough for Logistics to deal with the incoming DPS.
  • Last thought is that HACs are better than Battleships, because Sansha are using your signature radius to their favour.

Guardian Fitting, works best when cap-linked with another Logistic:
